Pink Matte

 This past week I bought six new nail polishes from the wonderful people at Zoya. They were having lots of promos and so I ordered two make your own color boxes. I was initially going to wait until Friday to paint my nails in Christmas colors but I could not wait to use my new Zoyas.

Green and Red

My sister has red crackle so naturally I offered to give her a green and red manicure. It's almost Christmas!!!

(Also, since I'm home for a month I get to use the big Nikon which means my pictures will be looking stellar!)

My roommate Erin got me the gorgeous color for Christmas yesterday. I couldn't wait to try it out. Its a mixture of red and maroon with hints of gold. I usually add designs on top of colors but I decided to leave this colors true beauty shine.

Getting Into the Christmas Spirit

I recently purchased this great red,black, and silver sparkly nail polish from Forever 21. I put it over a Zoya red basecoat and I think the color combination is the perfect way to start of December!

Keep Calm

Marble

I attempted to do the "marble" look and I believe it was somewhat successful. I tried to do a mix of green and blue but the green was to clear for it to actually show up on the nail. I think it would turn out better if you changed the water after every dip to ensure a perfect marble.

In Love

There is always a time and place for nude nails. Usually when I think of nude nail polish, I think of the normal light pink. When I saw this collection today I fell.in.love. Usually, I am known for wearing crazy colors and using crazy designs but when I saw the purple/blue nude I knew it was something I had to own. Here's to my 11.11.11 wish...A nail polish from this collection!

Disco

I painted my nails the pink/white bow design first and it just seemed messy. I restarted and did the simple silver with a glitter overlay for the weekend. It kinda reminds me of a disco ball. It doesn't photograph well but in person it really shines.

Nicki Minaj

Even though Nicki Minaj has been in the press lately for being a diva and belittling employees, she always surprises me with her interesting outfits and wigs. Shes crazy! When I found out she was coming out with an OPI collection, I could not be more excited. The colors are amazing! My favorite is the bright glitter one called "Save Me" but I think the plum crackle "Super Bass" would be such a fun crackle to have.(Imagine it over the bubblegum color "Pink Friday"-Love it!) The collection comes out in January 2012 soooo if anyone's looking for a birthday present for me;)

Purple and Glitter

There something I love about the ring finger painted as a different color. Its such a trend right now, but I hope it sticks around because its a fun way to brighten up a simple manicure.

Getting in the Halloween Spirit

I love holidays, and Halloween is no exception. My LOVELY roommate,Morgan, finds it hilarious that I blog about my nail polish. Therfore, she tries to interfere when I take pictures of my nails for the blog. Exibit A: The picture in the middle with the extra hand. THANKS Morgs...NOT!

Bleh

I am very uninspired by this purple color. With the flash of the camera it looks better than in person. It's way to dark and just looks bleh. Here is what I did with it- Which will probably be coming off tomorrow.

Matte/Shiny

The colors are definitely out there, but the base is matte and the tips are shiny (the pictures don't do the matte justice).

My friend Laura (HI!) gave me the idea to try this. I really like it!

Back to School

I was painting my nails and doing my makeup at the same time therefore the black smudge on the pointer nail. Anyways, I decided to do themed nails for my first day of sophomore year of college! Go Gophers!!

All my nail polishes are at my apartment while I am back at home. Therefore, I could only select colors from my sisters very small collection. This is what I came up with. Sorry, It's a bit messy-Didn't have time to clean it up!

Half Moon

I've been wanting to try this look for a while. To make the half moon shape, I used loose leaf paper reinforcements. It worked great. I used Sally Hansen Polishes(Mint Sorbet & Black Out) so the application wasn't very smooth. I can't wait to try this look with Zoya for a more refined look.

Cheeta

Yesterday, in between packing to go back to school I decided to paint my nails free-hand cheeta. I guess it turned out alright- I much prefer Konad!

Ombre

When you own way to many nail polishes, whats one way to ensure you get a chance to wear each color on a regular basis? OMBRE! Ombre is taking the world by storm-and not only with hair color. I have recently seen the ombre nail trend everywhere. Here is my take on it.

Feathers & Glitter

Some more experimenting has led me to these two very different but very cool designs. The first is a french with descending colored glitter. The second design is the white polish with a feather overlay. I LOVE THIS! It's more difficult than expected to get the right feather shape in the right place-but either way it still looks amazing!
